The horror-focused physical magazine Fearzine has reached its crowdfunding target and will be published in December 2024. Its publishers describe it as a “physical and digital magazine focused on horror games, nostalgia, and titles from indie studios and developers.” The crowdfunding campaign aimed for $5000 and went over it with two days to spare. At the time of this news item, there are under 45 hours left to run.
Fearzine issue 2 promises exclusive cover stories, developer interviews, and spotlights. Pages are also dedicated to the latest reviews and previews of new horror games. There are also featured articles on horror content creators, retro reviews and previews of smaller games. The publishers aim to print 1,000 copies from supporter contributions.
The campaign has been running on Kickstarter with the staff sending a strong indie message to the project. “Fearzine Magazine is an independently owned and operated physical and digital magazine comprised of fans and enthusiasts.” they explain in a statement “We strive to create a positive, supportive, and inclusive community. One of our primary goals is to help smaller teams and solo developers get the word out about their games.”
