Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition is getting an update next year that will add three extra games to the original package according to developer Team 17’s latest announcement. The new games are the original Worms in its Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Nintendo forms as well as the Game Boy Advance version of Worms World Party. These additional titles will go alongside the extra Game Boy Color port of Worms Armageddon included in the original release.
Since its release in September, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition has been lauded as the correct way to remaster an old game for new consoles. The master of these kinds of releases, Digital Eclipse, has crafted an excellent game that takes nothing away from the original title while adding sensible quality-of-life enhancements. It’s not only the actual remaster that is of high quality either, the package includes a history of Worms with interviews from prominent figures in its history.
The news of these new additions comes at a great time for Worms fans. Not only has the Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition been well received with fans awaiting new games to try, but Worms creator Andy Davidson has been hard at work making improvements to his Director’s Cut of the Aimga original with new levels. The worm truly has turned.
