Metamorphosis Collection is a series of games from award-winning Game Boy indie developer Ben Jelter. The collection has been out for pre-order for some time, but publisher Incube8 Games has announced a special red cart to celebrate the Halloween season. The limited colour cart can be pre-ordered up until the end of October. For those who wish to try before they buy, an emulator ROM demo can be downloaded and there is also a full digital version available. Both the special red cart and standard edition are expected to be released in November 2024.

The first game in the collection is Specimen 134 which shows a young kid called Jason notice some very unusual things going on in his town. His friend David asks him if he wants to explore the woods but he might not like what he finds there. It’s the longest of the three games and has extended action segments and multiple difficulties for enhanced replay value.

In Decline, the story centres on an elderly police detective trying to solve a final case. She is struggling to get through the work due to age and rumours are circling about a Glitch Witch. The final game in the Metamorphosis Collection is Opossum Country where players control a delivery driver going about his rounds. Things take a turn for the worst and he must now rush to finish his delivery or meet an untimely death.
