Masaki Crafts successfully transformed a broken 1984 Sony Watchman into a functional Game Boy Color. The modified device features a cartridge slot, HDMI TV output, headphone jack, and a link cable port, along with an SNES controller port for HDMI use, although only four of the six buttons on the Game Boy Color are utilized. The Sony Watchman had previously introduced a color LCD model, the FDL-310, in 1990, followed by the ergonomically designed FDL-22 in 1998.
