Yu Suzuki’s F355 Challenge has returned to online play, thanks to developer Flyinghead‘s restoration of its online functionality. Players can now upload their best times and download ghost cars for competitive racing, although full online multiplayer remains absent, in line with the original game. Local racing between two consoles is still possible. The game’s online features were last operational in 2006 before Sega discontinued them.
Originally released in arcades in 1999 and later ported to the Dreamcast in 2000 and PS2 in 2002, only the Dreamcast version supports online rankings, as the PS2 version lacks this feature. Access to the restored online capabilities can be achieved through the game disc or emulation.
The F355 Challenge website has now been fully restored, including rankings, thanks to flyinghead! Check out the details in the forum thread below.https://t.co/OyJmY96Ujh pic.twitter.com/MOR1N9OamL
