A player has reportedly exploited a glitch to attain the top position on the leaderboard for the Donkey Kong challenge in Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition. This glitch allowed the player to ascend invisible ladders, completing the level in just 15.68 seconds with only one jump.
Although the game is designed to prohibit glitch usage, the top time was featured on Nintendo Japan‘s official website, causing frustration among other competitors who felt disadvantaged. While the game typically suspends runs for prohibited actions, it appears that this particular glitch was overlooked. Nintendo has not commented on the issue, leading to speculation that the absence of live leaderboards might be an attempt to filter out glitch exploits, although the recent leaderboard suggests otherwise.
