At San Diego Comic-Con, Udon Entertainment revealed it has acquired the license for the Mega Man series, planning to release new comics in 2025. The agreement includes the classic Mega Man series and franchises like Mega Man Legends, Mega Man ZX, Mega Man X, and Mega Man Zero, but notably excludes Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force due to rights being held by multiple companies.
Following the announcement, Ian Flynn, the former lead writer of Archie‘s Mega Man comic series, expressed interest in contributing to Udon’s new project via a tweet.
