THQ, during the Wii era, sent a 24K gold-plated Nintendo Wii to Buckingham Palace as a marketing stunt for their game ‘Big Family Games‘. The console never made it inside and was considered ‘lost’, eventually being sold for $3,000. It is now owned by Consolevariations and will be showcased at Gamescom 2024. While it never reached the royal family, the Golden Wii holds significance for both gaming enthusiasts and fans of the English Monarchy. It is a unique piece of history that many will be eager to see in person at the event.
