Konami has shared a 13-minute gameplay footage of the Silent Hill 2 remake, showcasing protagonist James Sunderland exploring the streets of Silent Hill and navigating the Brookhaven Hospital. The footage includes combat scenes with various monsters, notably the iconic nurses, and ends with James encountering 12-year-old Laura who flees as a monster approaches. The video confirms changes to James‘ appearance, making him look younger than in the original remake trailer.
The game is set to release on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8, 2024, as announced during Sony‘s State of Play presentation. Bloober Team, the studio behind the remake, emphasized the importance of the project and the transition from fixed cameras to a full third-person view.
Pre-orders of the Standard Edition will receive Mira the Dog and Robbie the Rabbit masks, while the Deluxe Edition offers additional perks such as a digital artbook, soundtrack, and a Pyramid Head mask made from a pizza box for James, with early access to the game.
