The South American Zeebo console, released in Brazil and Mexico in 2009, was an obscure gaming platform with 3G connectivity and based on Qualcomm’s BREW mobile gaming chipset. It aimed to combat piracy by using digital-only distribution, a unique approach in the gaming industry.
Despite support from major publishers like Activision, Capcom, and Electronic Arts, the system was discontinued in 2011. However, emulator Infuse, developed by @Tuxality, now allows players to enjoy some of the Zeebo‘s games. Currently, only a few games are playable, including Double Dragon and Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D. The Zeebo library also features popular titles like FIFA 09 and Resident Evil 4: Zeebo Edition.
With ongoing development, the Infuse emulator shows promise for preserving and experiencing the forgotten gaming legacy of the Zeebo console.
