We previously reported on the Amstrad CPC homebrew title Mighty S. Fighters, which was finally released towards the end of last year, and despite the Amstrad CPC’s rubber-keyed rival, the ZX Spectrum, getting most of the attention from retro gamers last year due to the release of the plug and play ‘The Spectrum’ machine, homebrew developers certainly haven’t forgotten about the Amstrad CPC home computer, with two new Amstrad CPC homebrew games already being released this year!
The new Amstrad CPC homebrew games in question are the Pac-Man influenced Pepper Buster, and Dungeon II, which is the sequel to an earlier game called “Dungeon of the Silverstar,” though the developers say that no knowledge of the first game is required to play the second. Dungeon II has been written entirely in BASIC, though you certainly wouldn’t know it by looking at it!
Pepper Buster has been developed by Crazy Piri and is available to download from Crazy Piri’s itch.io page, whereas Dungeon II has been developed by Retro Vynz and is available to download from their itch.io page. So, whether you use original Amstrad CPC hardware or an Amstrad CPC emulator, there are two great-looking new Amstrad CPC homebrew games waiting for you to download!
